Could someone please give me a warm-up technique for my singing?
I don't have a vocal coach at this moment, and I really need a warm-up technique before I sing. So could someone plz help me with this issue?

Also place one hand over your abdomen to feel and become more aware of the air pushing up through your abdominal muscles/diaphragm. Then I open my mouth as wide as I can several times. Then I simply go through few scales - low to high. Then I practice one the songs I'm fixing to sing. This always works for me.
If you've got a few days to practice just do the warm ups then practice about an hour a day, but don't wear yourself out. I also gargle saltwater. And this time of year I take a sinus pill.

I'm good at All of these things...Piano i'm good, but not great, Violin playing I have alway's wanted to do, Acting I am great at...I can start crying right now..., Singing i'M okay at, and I LOVE DANCING. What should I do???

I think it is better for you to do what you truly feel! If you do what someone else says then your not happy with it later. You can do anything, you can even do all these and after gaining more experience with each activity you may even pick up a career like Jennifer Lopez did with her dancing first, then she caught on to acting and singing, just like you she got started with one then it lead to another. Your gonna end up artistic and have a great opportunity in the future!

Reply:I have a solution for you. Musical Theater! You're required to act, sing, and dance. Study acting/ musical theater formally and you'll love it. If you can play an instrument as well you're ever more employable.

What is the best way for me to warm up my voice before singing?
The best things to do is to drink room temperature water. That way your vocal chords do not get shocked from getting too cold or hot.
Also do some yawning sounds. For instance go really high and loud and drop in about 10 seconds. A lot of singers do that. Then I would simply do some scale exercises and elevate them as you go along. Even some simple normal talking can help. But do not work out your vocal chords too much as they will tire and you will not sound as good as you are!

Oh wow... memories of my childhood.
First- just know that people will not see you as nervous as you precieve yourself.
Next... OK... you know you know how to sing right? You do it just fine in class. Just because there are a few more/older people there doesn't change your voice. Being nervous about them being there will.
As you look at the audience- focus on the kids from school you see and feel like you are singing in front of your choir that you are with everyday.
It will get easier. But never gets easy.

Who sang? - "Put Your Hands Up" (I think) - UK artist?
Heard it in a club the other day. I think this is what the song is called as it's repeated four times for the chorus. The singer is has quite a deep 'grungey' voice. I *think* there is a tame guitar solo.
I thought I remember it being a big hit in the UK, but looking at the list of #1 singles in the 90's on wikipedia I couldn't seem to find it...
