So... i have this singing concert coming up...?

help. any advice? on how to conquer nerves... handmovements... vocal stuff... anything that'll make my performance seem 'professional' (even though i'm a beginner)

haha.
So... i have this singing concert coming up...?
Oh wow... memories of my childhood.

First- just know that people will not see you as nervous as you precieve yourself.

Next... OK... you know you know how to sing right? You do it just fine in class. Just because there are a few more/older people there doesn't change your voice. Being nervous about them being there will.

As you look at the audience- focus on the kids from school you see and feel like you are singing in front of your choir that you are with everyday.

It will get easier. But never gets easy.

HAVE FUN!
Reply:Just make them believe in the song you're singing. A song is a story so be the best story teller for that song.
Reply:dogandponysound.com has some GREAT tips for singers, especially amateurs like me.
Reply:be confident dat will do ! good luck
Reply:I know what your feeling. I have to try out for the top choir in my school on Thursday. I'm terrified. I tried last year, but um....totally messed up, lol.And didn't make it. People keep telling me that I HAVE to make it this time. But my nerves seem to be getting the best of me. And the thing is, I hardly know the moves to the song. Or the song itself. So yes. I know what you mean!
Reply:watch american idol..
Reply:Go to a shopping mall and sing while walking around
Reply:a shot of whiskey will help calm the nerves and get your vocal chords warmed up at the same time.
Reply:Didn't you just post "the hair down there .....?" question? Was that for this concert? Who would know?
Reply:I used to have that alot before going to talent comps. Just take deep breaths and relax. Try not to think about the people who are watching you and focus on singing. If you have to, look above the crowd to a point on the wall.
